ROCKWELL Automation says oil and gas companies can combat modern challenges with its new Asset Performance Management portfolio which improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Rising global demand, harsher exploration and production environments, declining production from older fields and economic pressures are some of the challenges faced by oil and gas producers today.

According to Rockwell Automation, improvements in predictive technologies, especially asset performance management (APM) solutions, provide ways to improve reliability, reduce downtime and lower costs.

The Rockwell Automation APM portfolio is said to exceed typical control and safety functionalities, helping companies achieve greater operational flexibility and scalability.

The Rockwell Automation APM portfolio includes the Allen-Bradley DataSite Remote Terminal Unit, the PlantPAx process automation system, and Asset Performance Management Tools.

The Allen-Bradley DataSite RTU is a rugged product for use in extreme environments and in remote locations powered by solar or wind technologies.

The PlantPAx process automation system includes systems integration and engineering solutions, control and Web-based visualization platforms, performance and process optimization, and process safety and critical control.

Rockwell Automation says its Asset Performance Management tools include automated analytics, process condition and asset monitoring, tracking and trending software, collaborative dashboards and automated production reporting.

According to Rockwell Automation, to provide real benefits in asset utilisation and availability, companies should integrate core technologies to enable real-time, closed-loop decision processes.
