SPRAYING Systems has released a totally automated retractable tank washer suitable for tanks up to 12m deep.
The retractable tank washer (RTW) unit is said to eliminate manual cleaning. According to the company, the RTW can also reduce the use of cleaning chemicals and water, while cleaning tanks thoroughly and consistently.
Workers do not have to manually insert and remove the tank washer from the tank, as the unit comes with a pneumatic mechanism which lowers and raises the tank washer at the beginning and end of cleaning cycles.
The RTW is controlled by a remote control panel which allows users to set multiple stopping points between full insertion and retraction.
This is said to allow the nozzles to be positioned in locations where more cleaning impact is required, or to clean around internal tank obstructions.
The motor-driven RTW has cleaning cycles from 2.1 to 11 minutes, and operates at pressures up to 275 bar and temperatures up to 60 degrees Celcius. It can clean latex, acrylic, polymer, paint, cosmetics, and food.
Explosion-proof versions are available.
