SKF has released an oil recirculation system for bearing lubrication in hot gas fan applications.
According to the company, the SM-100 purpose-built system can solve problems such as high rotational speeds, high operating temperatures and fan bearing failures.
It can be used for fans, gears, refiners, gear boxes, motors, presses, rolls, pumps and other machines. It is said to be a standalone system, and easy to install, use and maintain.
The system does not use water, eliminating waste water and the potential for frozen water lines. The manufacturer claims component wear and oil degradation can be avoided by using an optional variable frequency drive speed controller for cooling and pumping.
The system can use one or two pumps, and is said to be compact.
