Sewerage facility upgraded

TENTERFIELD’S sewerage plant is currently undergoing an upgrade which could almost triple its capacityTENTERFIELD’S sewerage plant is currently undergoing an upgrade which could almost triple its capacity, making it future-proof until 2030.
The $6.7m infrastructure upgrade has been helped by a 50% matching funding between the Council and the State Government.
The upgrade operation encountered a hitch with some unexpected rock which had to be removed in a $20,000 operation.
Despite the extra expenditure, local politicians say they are pleased with the progress of the work. They are confident the upgrade will be complete by May 2009.
