Quay reduces fire risk at alloy plant
QUAY Magnesium says it has changed the processes and redesigned the building structure of the Nanjing alloy plant to minimise the future risk of fires.
The alloy plant had been
damaged by fire on 25 April 2008. The company has since identified the cause of the fire and taken measures to prevent future problems.
According to the magnesium producer, the building repair work has been assigned to the original builder,
Spaceframe. Local safety authorities will be working with the facility management to return the alloy plant to operation by July 2008.
