Moisture removal system to dry out London Underground

The technology can be used to extract water from materials such as concrete and brick masonry.HYDROTECH’S maintenance engineering technology will be used in London’s Tube system.

The London Underground Engineering Directorate has formally accepted the Australian company’s Multi Pulse Sequencing system (MPS) technology after a trial installation at Walthamstow.

The technology provider will be able to deal with Metronet and Tubelines, who are involved in the refurbishment of the London Underground stations.

The company expects MPS will be installed in seven underground structures.

MPS is a proprietary electro-osmotic system which uses low voltage pulsating charges that dry out underground structures and maintains them in a permanently dry state. It can be used in subterranean basements and tunnels that have chronic water seepage problems.

The technology can be used to extract water from materials such as concrete and brick masonry. It is effective in high-pressure environments up to 60 bars.
