SIRF Roundtables (SIRF Rt) is holding an Electrical Maintenance and Safety National Forum in Melbourne on 15 and 16 June 2009.

According to SIRF Rt, the annual meeting will promote best practices in the safe and effective management of industrial electrical supply and process equipment.

The event will focus on real life stories of the results and improvements made by the practical application of knowledge, standards and processes. Case study speakers include representatives from Bluescope Steel, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Nyrstar Port Pirie and other big players.

Also in focus will be the topics of arc flash safety and HV maintenance. Attendees will also discuss the need to monitor and reduce power consumption, considering the use of VSD’s, along with reducing idle equipment, air compressor use, lighting use and improving process efficiency with metering.

SIRF Rt claims the Electrical Maintenance and Safety National Forum is suited for asset and maintenance managers, supervisors, planners, electricians, technicians, apprentices, and other electrical stakeholders.
