HENKEL has released the Loctite 5452 thread sealant, which it says is formulated for use on metal fittings found in high pressure hydraulic and
pneumatic power systems.
According to
HENKEL, Loctite 5452 cures four times faster than traditional anaerobic
sealants on
stainless steel or inert metals, so fittings under low pressure can be repaired quickly and returned to service almost immediately.
Loctite 5452 is designed to fill, seal and secure the air space between threads, but contains no fillers or particles which could contaminate system fluids, foul
valves or clog fine filters/screens.
HENKEL says the thixotropic purple gel works well on any size NPT, O-ring boss (ORB) or JIC fitting, and prevents rotation or vibrational loosening which can lead to leakage on dry seal fittings.
Available in 50 or 250 ml tubes, Loctite 5452 is said to withstand
operating temperatures from -53 to 148ºC, and resist pressures to 10,000psi.
