True power monitoring provides early warning

The PMD s10 indicates the motor load by monitoring the thresholds and providing an analogue voltage or current value proportional to true power.PILZ Safe Automation has released a new generation of their electronic monitoring relays which monitor values such as voltage, current, temperature or phase sequence.

The new PMDsigma units have the ability to set values by turning a rotary knob. They can then be saved on a chip card and copied over to other units.

The relays have plain text display which supports parameter setting, and is also said to provide user-friendly diagnostics.

The range also includes a unit which monitors true power, effectively becoming an early warning system for hazardous plant conditions without the need for additional sensors.

The PMD s10 indicates the motor load by monitoring the thresholds and providing an analogue voltage or current value proportional to true power. Both overload and underload thresholds can be monitored via an analogue signal or via the integrated relay.
