Self-cleaning systems for turbines and generators
DONALDSON Australasia has released a range of self-cleaning systems suited for turbines and generators in various operating environments.
The GDX systems come in configurations for large and small turbines, while the TTD system is a pulse cleaning air filter system for gas turbine and generator ventilation applications.
According to the manufacturer, the self-cleaning feature means the systems require little maintenance between filter change-outs. They are suitable for turbines and generators in deserts, factory areas, on the coast, or in cold conditions.
The GDX is a pulse cleaning inlet air filter system designed for original equipment manufacturers. It is modular and uses a layered downward airflow design over banks of filter cartridge pairs made with spider-web filter media.
In the large-turbine configuration, the system can handle airflow of 2237 to 33557 meters cubed per minute. In the small-turbine configuration, GDX can handle a maximum of 2237 meters cubed per minute.
The modular design allows the inlet to be enhanced with features such as moisture separators, acoustic hoods, evaporative cooler or chiller coils, and anti-icing systems.
