Second version for electrical safety testing unit

The testing system is used by commissioning and maintenance engineers to test protective systems. MACEY’s Electrical has updated its electrical safety testing unit.

The 100ADM mk2 replaces the 100ADM and is said to retain the advantages of the 100ADM and incorporate an updated design.

The unit is said to be more accurate, tougher, lighter, and have better protection. It comes with an automated mains voltage selection and a memory ammeter.

The testing system is used by commissioning and maintenance engineers to test protective systems. It has a panel layout and a simple user interface. The status of every function can be seen at a glance.

The unit has a range of outputs allowing injection of currents ranging from a few mA to 100A. The main output allows voltages up to 240V, making the system suitable for testing high impedance current relays and voltage relays.

The 100ADM mk2 has four true RMS metering ranges, allowing the full scale fo the meter and trip level to be set independently of the selected output. All inputs and outputs use industry standard safety connectors, and the system is protected by overcurrent, duty cycle and thermal trips.

The system has a stabilised DC supply to power the relay under test, along with an independently switched and isolated 110V AC output.

The timing system is said to allow quick and accurate measurement of trip times, reset times and reclosure times. There are two timing channels, so the timer can be used independently of the output.

The 100ADM mk2 can be used to test many types of single phase secondary protection systems.
