Outotec upgrades Chinese smelters

OUTOTEC will be providing plant expansion and facility upgrades to several Chinese aluminium smelters after it won a series of orders worth a total of EUR17 million.

China is the largest primary aluminium producing country globally. The orders come as Chinese producers build new capacity to meet growing demand.

The company will provide a vibrocompactor and key rodshop process equipment for the expansion of the China Aluminium International Trading smelter in the Liaoning province.

It will also assist in the building of a Greenfield aluminium smelter for Yellow River Hydropower in the Qinghai province, by providing a sow casting system and two sets of key rodshop process equipment. The sow casting system has a capacity of 30 tonnes per hour.

The company will deliver another sow casting system to Huomei Hongjun’s aluminium facility in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
