Lubricant with thermally activated wear protection

The company claims the 1061 to 1609 range of gear oils are suited for the industrial and mobile equipment markets.LUBRICATION Engineers has released a new lubricant said to offer significant performance improvements compared to previous gear oils.

The DUOLEC Vari-Purpose gear lubricant (DVPGL) range includes the company’s DUOLEC proprietary additive which is used for gear oil applications.

According to the manufacturer, the lubricants have greater thermal stability, improved shear resistance, better water separation and the ability to be filtered to low micron levels without harming or removing additives.

The company claims the 1061 to 1609 range of gear oils are suited for the industrial and mobile equipment markets.

The additive found in the lubricants is a dual-acting liquid which provides thermally activated wear protection. It also forms a solid-like protective layer on the metal surface to provide pressure protection. The layer fills surface asperities to minimise the effects of metal to metal contact and reduce friction.
