A GROUP of maintenance workers at the National Foods milk processing plant have won a 21% pay rise, after being on strike since late July 2008.Pleased with the outcome, the workers went back to work on 17 August 2008. According to the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU), the workers also won the right to be consulted and agree to any roster changes the company wants to make. The Electrical Trades Union (ETU) and AMWU members initiated strike action after enterprise bargaining negotiations with the company fall through. The workers say they had gone without a pay rise for two years and the company was changing the rosters to family-unfriendly times.
