Environmental monitor logs data

The HOBO U14 has a backlit LCD display that allows quick visual checks of temperature and humidity conditions. ONSET Computer has released a low-cost environmental monitoring data logger that displays and tracks temperature and humidity levels in indoor environments such as warehouses and storage facilities.

The HOBO U14 has a backlit LCD display that allows quick visual checks of temperature and humidity conditions.

The unit also logs data for long-term trend analysis, storing over 43,000 12-bit temperature and humidity measurements. It can alert users when environmental conditions exceed set limits by sounding an alarm, dialling a phone, or through the LCD display.

The data logger has a high-speed direct-USB interface which can quickly offload data to a PC or Mac computer.

It includes a graphing and analysis software package which is said to have a user-friendly graphical user interface and allows users to plot, analyse and print data files. The software can also export data to spreadsheet programs.

The company claims the HOBO U14 will find applications in food storage, refrigeration, agriculture and manufacturing facilities, where it can play a part in regulating temperatures and humidity.
