Engineering company to optimise Brazilian port
AUSENCO says its subsidiary Sandwell will be conceptualising, optimising and engineering an industrial port located in Brazil.
The new Porto Brasil, south of Sao Paulo, will handle iron ore, bulk agricultural products, fertiliser, bulk liquid and containers. Sandwell’s contractual optimisation and engineering work is being undertaken for Acu Operacoes Portuarias.
The work being performed by the Ausenco subsidiary is said to be key to the commencement of construction in 2009. The entire project is expected to be complete by 2012.
Sandwell is a specialist port and marine engineering company and is working on a number of other projects in South America.
