Council receives safety award for maintenance training
BLACKTOWN Council has received an award for training its workers on the safe use of maintenance tools and machinery.
The council was awarded the 2008 Occupational Health and Safety Implementation Award at the Institute of Public Works engineering Australia (IPWEA) conference.
According to the council, since it started training new staff and existing staff on the proper and safe use of the maintenance tools, no new employees have been reported injured.
