The AS-interface (AS-i) is a manufacturer-independent standard for connection of sensors and transmitters. It is said to have a modular structure and flexible connection technology to allow easy integration into existing control systems.
The sensors are regularly exposed to extreme conditions such as acids, alkalis, cleaning agents, foam guns, temperature shocks, high pressure cleaners and high air humidity. The wiring technology must therefore be able to stand up to these conditions.
According to the company, its splitter boxes and field modules are tailored to withstand high environmental demands.
