Asian rig maintenance contract

ENGINEERING services company Neptune Marine will use its dry underwater welding technology to conduct maintenance on an oil rig off Thailand.
The company secured the contract with Chevron Thailand, and will work in partnership with local diving services company Mermaid Offshore.
It will use its NEPSYS technology to strengthen a jacket leg on an oil rig platform in 80m of water in the southern Gulf of Thailand. This will increase the maximum topside load of the platform to incorporate new accommodation facilities.
According to the company, NEPSYS is portable and achieves a permanent repair solution which is cost-effective and equal to dry weld standards.
